On August 15, 1978 the City of Issaquah proclaimed it Julius Boehm
day, in recognition of all the public service and donations. Soon after
The King County parks system named the Issaquah District swimming pool
as the Julius Boehm Pool.
Throughout the years Julius was very active in many sports including
water polo, skiing, swimming, and boxing. He spent many years teaching
youth skiing and swimming. He also established his own ski school. At
the youthful age of 80, Julius amazingly climbed 14,410 feet, to the peak
of Mt. Rainier. Conquering Mt. Rainier was something Julius did three
times during his life. |
